The International Carl Haag Society was founded on January 17, 2015 – the 100th anniversary of the painter’s death. The founders of the society seek to preserve and promote the artist’s work, life, and estate through education and research.
The society is registered and recognized as a non-profit organization under German law. Its twenty founders, including the German city of Oberwesel and the municipal museum of Erlangen, welcome new members, whether they are private citizens or corporate entities. The society’s governing board nominates individuals from both the public and private sectors – from areas such as the arts, sciences, government, and business – to an advisory board, which supports the mission of International Carl Haag Society. Members of the society as well as members of the advisory board periodically receive a newsletter about current projects and upcoming events.
